Johnson City



Johnson City is a city in Washington County and a small part of the city is located within Sullivan County, Tennessee, to the northeast and Carter County, Tennessee, to the southeast.  The community was named after the first mayor, Henry Johnson. Located in the Appalachian Mountains, Johnson City covers a total area of 102.5 km² (39.6 mi²). 101.7 km² (39.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.8 km² (0.3 mi²) of it (0.78%) is water.

Johnson City enjoys a pleasant climate with cool summers and mild winters. Spring and autumn are truly breathtaking. The average summer temperature is 80° F while the average winter temperature 38° F,
