Tennessee : Administration

Tennessee is ranked 17th among the 50 states of United States. Tennessee is located in the Southeastern region of United States. Tennessee was the 16th state admitted to union of United States in 1796. The constitution of Tennessee consists of three branches of government: executive, legislative and judicial. Legislative functions are granted to the Tennessee General Assembly which consists of 99 members representing and 33 Senator Members. The Senators serve for four years and House of Representatives serve for two years. The executive branch of Tennessee is led by the Governor of Tennessee, who is directly elected by position; the senate elects the lieutenant governor as the speaker. The judiciary comprises of the Supreme Court of Tennessee which is the highest court in the state and comprises of one chief justice and four associate judges. The Supreme Court also appoints the Attorney General. Other courts like the Appellate and circuit courts consist of twelve judges. Local courts like circuit and federal provide judicial services.

The department also provides emergency services and coordinates other health care providers and local health departments.

Department of Tourism Development: The mission of the department of Tourism is to promote the state as vacation destination to all visitors and hence strengthen the overall economy of the state.

Department of Transportation: The Tennessee Department of Transportation constructs and maintains highways, roads and mass transit systems for the safe and faster movement of people and goods.
